After nearly 9 years of courtship, we are so excited to finally be tying the knot! We can't wait to celebrate our wedding with everyone. Our relationship, like any, has grown stronger from the loving and constant support of our friends and family. We are so grateful for that support and hope that you will be able to join us as we start this next, exciting phase of our lives!
The ceremony begins in:
There are so many qualities in Mike that I love, one of which is his silliness/inner child. One of my favorite examples of this is the bouncy castle story. Since very early in our relationship, Mike told me that growing up he had always wanted a bouncy castle but never had one. I thought that maybe one day for a special occasion I would get him one. Then shortly after he proposed, he started talking in a concerningly serious manner about having a bouncy castle at our wedding. Not exactly how I pictured the "big day", I started to panic and realized I needed to act quickly.
So I put together a surprise birthday party for Mike in the park with a full, adult-sized bouncy castle. The day of the party came and I had him meet me in the park after lunch. As he walked to our meeting spot, he passed by ten different bouncy castles (mind you, all with little kids) and each time he sent me an excited text with a picture, not knowing what lay ahead for him. When he finally reached the meeting spot, he saw no-one around. Uncertain where I was, he called and that's when he saw me and some of our friends bouncing around inside a huge bouncy castle. He couldn't stop giggling for the rest of the day.
There are many fond moments I have of Debbie and me, but one of my favorite is the infamous Jamba Juice story. This all happened before we started dating. One night Debbie graciously drove 4 guys bowling and to repay her, I told her that I would bring her a smoothie in the morning since we had the same 9am class. So I woke up early, biked to Jamba Juice, bought two orange smoothies and walked a mile to class since you can't bike while holding two drinks.
I got to class 10 minutes early to make sure she would get her smoothie. And I sat there patiently with two drinks in my hand waiting for her to come. The clock kept ticking by with no sign of Debbie. 8:55. 8:57. 8:59. Class starts without Debbie and with me holding two drinks obviously waiting for someone. (Who gets stood up for offering a free smoothie?) 9:10 rolls by and Debbie scurries in late and just plops down in the front of the room. Nowhere near me or her drink. Ironically, I didn't even want a smoothie, but now I had two.... the first of many times I've learned Debbie is not a morning person.
